Thoughts on the Characters:
Jude Duarte (The Queen, The Queen of Mirth, High King's Seneschal, High Queen of Elfhame, High Queen of Faerie): Aaahhhh!!!!!! I LOVE Jude!! She is one of the strongest female lead characters!!!! I do believe that she made the right choice when she thought she was killing Cardan. I mean, I would rather die than be trapped as a snake for the rest of my life. Cardan Greenbriar (High King of Elfhame):
If he were real, he would be fought over constantly. And I would be one of the people fighting over him. Yes, in the beginning, he seemed really rude. I truly did think that there was a reason that he sent Jude to the mortal world other than punishment. Maybe because he wanted to protect her. After he told Jude that she could have come back whenever she wanted, I felt stupid, but I can only imagine how stupid Jude felt. Quick shoutout to Queen Suren of the Court of the Teeth. Everybody needs to understand how horrible she was being treated. That is probably how Oak would have been treated if Jude hadn't "saved" him from Madoc. Just not in public. Favorite Quotes: “It’s you I love,” he says. “I spent much of my life guarding my heart. I guarded it so well that I could behave as though I didn’t have one at all. Even now, it is a shabby, worm-eaten, and scabrous thing. But it is yours.” He walks to the door to the royal chambers, as though to end the conversation. “You probably guessed as much,” he says. “But just in case you didn’t.” “Come home and shout at me. Come home and fight with me. Come home and break my heart, if you must.” "How do people like us take off our armor? One piece at a time.” “I raise a plastic glass. “To family.” “And Faerieland,” says Taryn, raising hers. “And pizza,” says Oak. “And stories,” says Heather. “And new beginnings,” says Vivi. Cardan smiles, his gaze on me. “And scheming great schemes.” To family and Faerieland and pizza and stories and new beginnings and scheming great schemes. I can toast to that.”
